Ushuluddin's Green Spirit: Community Synergy for a Sustainable Campus
Jakarta, FU News Online - The Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta positively welcomes the Green Campus programme initiated by the UIN Jakarta Green Campus Development Centre (Pusbang). This was conveyed during the Socialization and Consolidation of the Green Campus Development Center’s Work Program held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 11:00 to 12:30 WIB at the Faculty of Ushuluddin Meeting Room.
The event was attended by the Head of Pusbang Green Campus, Prof. Dr. Hendrawati, M.Si., and her team, Vice Dean I Dr. Eva Nugraha, M.Ag., Vice Dean III Dr. Aktobi Ghozali, M.A., Head of Administration Ahmad Sulhi S.Ag., M.Kom., representatives of lecturers, staff, Student Council, and field technical personnel.
In her presentation, Prof. Hendrawati explained that Green Campus is a concept of university management that is oriented towards environmental sustainability and sustainable development. "The campus is not only a centre of education and research, but also must set a real example in protecting the environment," she said.
The main characteristics of Green Campus include energy efficiency, water management, waste management, environmentally friendly transport, greening, and sustainable policies and education for the academic community.
Some of the work programmes that will be implemented at the Faculty of Ushuluddin include:
- Reducing the use of single-use plastics,
- Optimising the use of electricity and water,
- Increasing green areas and environmental arrangement,
- Continuous education on environmentally friendly behaviour.
Vice Dean I Dr. Eva Nugraha, M.Ag. confirmed the full support of the Faculty of Ushuluddin for this programme. "The Faculty of Ushuluddin is ready to support the implementation of Green Campus. We believe that an environmentally friendly culture must start from simple steps, until finally it becomes a joint movement of the entire academic community, " he said.
Similarly, Vice Dean III Dr Aktobi Ghozali, M.A. emphasised the importance of student involvement. "Students have a strategic role as agents of change. With their active involvement, the Green Campus programme is not just a policy, but can become a living movement in the middle of the campus," he said.
The meeting was closed with the spirit of collaboration to realise UIN Jakarta as a green, environmentally friendly, and sustainable campus. Follow-up in the form of preparing faculty needs, providing technical modules, and further coordination meetings will be held soon.
