Warm Collaboration: Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Jakarta and FISH UNJ Sign MoU

FU Online News – The Faculty of Ushuluddin, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Cooperation Agreement (MoA) on the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

The event took place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 14.00 to 15.30 WIB, at the Meeting Room, 4th Floor of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, UIN Jakarta. The signing was carried out by Prof. Ismatu Ropi, M.A., Ph.D. (Dean of FU UIN Jakarta) and Firdaus Wajdi, M.A., Ph.D. (Dean of FISH UNJ), and was witnessed by the faculty leadership as well as heads of study programs, secretaries of study programs, and lecturers from both institutions.

Strengthening Education, Research, and Publication

This collaboration covers education, research, community service, and academic publication. A concrete follow-up of this agreement will be the upcoming National Seminar with the theme “Integration of Social Sciences, Law, Communication, Tourism, and Islamic Education to Create Innovative Impacts for Multicultural Societies in the Digital Era” to be held on October 31, 2025.

In his remarks, Dean of FISH UNJ, Firdaus Wajdi, emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-institutional research networks. He highlighted plans to enhance journal collaboration, including efforts to reach Scopus and Sinta 2–4 indexing. “We hope this collaboration not only enriches research and publications but also creates a space for inspiration-sharing among lecturers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dean of FU UIN Jakarta, Prof. Ismatu Ropi, underscored the need for the partnership to be implemented into real activities. “Let’s execute directly what can be quickly realized. We want this collaboration to bring tangible benefits—not only on paper, but also to students, lecturers, and the community,” he affirmed.

Guest Lectures and Journal Management Collaboration

Several academic leaders also contributed their perspectives. Dr. Abdul Hakim Wahid, S.H.I., M.A. (Head of Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy Study Program) proposed strengthening guest lecture programs and accelerating journal management partnerships.

From UNJ, Dr. Sari Nurulita, Lc., M.Si. (Coordinator of Islamic Education Study Program) highlighted the diverse backgrounds of UNJ students, coming from senior high schools, vocational schools, and tahfidz tracks. She stressed the importance of guest lecturers from UIN Jakarta to strengthen Islamic studies content for their students.

A Meeting Filled with Warmth and Shared Stories

This meeting was not only a formal signing ceremony but also a moment full of warmth and shared stories. Leaders from both faculties exchanged experiences, engaged in light discussions on research opportunities, and shared ideas on developing academic journals.

The warm atmosphere was also emphasized by Prof. Ismatu Ropi, who noted that mutual closeness is an essential foundation for collaboration. “This meeting was not rigid at all; it felt like an academic family gathering. From this sense of togetherness, we can design many meaningful steps forward,” he said.

Strategic Steps Ahead

Both deans agreed that the collaboration would be further specified through Implementation Agreements (IA) for different activities, such as journal management, guest lectures, seminars, and international book chapters. FISH UNJ itself plans to release a book chapter this year with a contributor from California, USA.

Through this agreement, the Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Jakarta strengthens its academic partnerships across universities and reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the advancement of knowledge, research, and community engagement.
