Ushuluddin Mengaji: Raising Prayers for the Nation
Jakarta, FU Online News — The Faculty of Ushuluddin at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully organized the Ushuluddin Mengaji program under the theme “Raising Prayers for the Nation.” The event, held on Friday, November 28, 2025, took place from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. WIB and was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, and students from various study programs.

Pilgrimage to the UIN Jakarta Cemetery: Sending Prayers to Distinguished Figures
The series of activities began at 6:30 a.m. WIB with a collective pilgrimage to the UIN Jakarta Cemetery on Semanggi Street. The Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta personally led the procession to pray for the deceased figures and founders of UIN Jakarta. This pilgrimage served as both a moment of respect and a reminder of the contributions of predecessors who laid the foundations of scholarship and spirituality on campus.
Registration: Distribution of Mushaf and Juz Coupons
Upon entering the event venue at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, all participants received a copy of the Qur’an (Mushaf) and a juz distribution coupon for the Qur’anic khatam. These coupons helped organize the distribution of juz in a structured manner, ensuring that the khatmil Qur’an proceeded in an orderly and evenly distributed way.
Opening and Strengthening the Spirit of National Unity
The event opened with a video presentation, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya and the UIN Hymn. Participants filled the auditorium with enthusiasm, embracing the theme “Raising Prayers for the Nation” as a symbol of spiritual effort to pray for the country.
Rector’s Remarks: Ushuluddin Mengaji Should Be Held Monthly
In his remarks, the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta expressed appreciation for the implementation of the program as a manifestation of the academic community’s spiritual concern for the nation. He emphasized the importance of cultivating the habit of collective Qur’an recitation.
The Rector stressed that such activities should not be conducted only once a year, but ideally become a regular monthly agenda. According to him, strengthening morality, spirituality, and academic ethics can only be achieved if Qur’anic traditions are continuously maintained and enlivened.
Dean’s Remarks: Strengthening the Faculty’s Qur’anic Tradition
The Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin also expressed appreciation for the presence of all participants. He underlined that Ushuluddin Mengaji represents an academic identity aligned with the vision of the Faculty of Ushuluddin as a center of Islamic scholarship that is moderate, profound, and grounded in moral values.
Khatmil Qur’an and Tilawah Parade
Entering the core session, the opening of the Qur’anic khatam was led by Dr. Hasani Ahmad Said, M.A., and guided by Abdul Manaf, M.Ag. All participants recited the Qur’an according to the juz listed on the coupons they received during registration. This mechanism ensured that the khatam process was orderly, evenly distributed, and actively involved all participants.
The khatam session took place in a solemn and serene atmosphere, in harmony with the event’s theme, “Raising Prayers for the Nation.”

Closing Prayer and Shalawat Performance
Following the Qur’anic recitation, the khatmil Qur’an supplication was led by Dr. Sandi Santosa, M.Si. The atmosphere grew even more vibrant with a shalawat performance by Miftah Farid, a young influencer and international qori.

The Ushuluddin Mengaji: Raising Prayers for the Nation program received support from various parties. The event was supported by KitaBisa and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, which contributed to strengthening Qur’anic traditions within the campus environment.
In addition, documentation and publication were supported by media partners Islami.co and BincangSyariah, two Islamic media outlets actively engaged in disseminating moderate and enlightening religious discourse.
Certificate Distribution and Closing
The event concluded at 11:30 a.m. WIB with the distribution of PBAK certificates for the 2025/2026 cohort of new students.
With the theme “Raising Prayers for the Nation,” this year’s Ushuluddin Mengaji became a moment of togetherness, spirituality, and reinforcement of Qur’anic traditions on campus. There is great hope that the program will truly become a monthly agenda, as directed by the Rector, so that Qur’anic values continue to take deeper root in the academic life of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
