UIN Jakarta Delegation Welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, FU Online News – The delegation of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta, attending The International Conference on “Imam Bukhari and Scholarship in The Muslim World” in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, was warmly received by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, Prof. Dr. Hj. Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin, M.A., on Saturday (October 26, 2025) at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Tashkent.

The delegation from the Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Jakarta was led by the Dean, Prof. Ismatu Ropi, M.A., Ph.D., accompanied by Dr. Eva Nugraha, M.Ag. (Vice Dean for Academic Affairs), Dr. Lilik Ummi Kaltsum, M.A. (Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance), and Dr. Aktobi Ghozali, M.A. (Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation).

Also joining the delegation were faculty members: Prof. Dr. Bambang Irawan; Dr. Ahmad Fudhaili, M.Ag.; Dr. Sandi Santosa, M.Si.; Dr. Hasani, M.A.; Dr. Humaidi, S.Th.I., M.Ud.; Dr. Hj. Yuminah R., M.A.Si.; dan Dr. Jauhar Azizy, M.A.

During the cordial meeting, Ambassador Siti Ruhaini expressed her appreciation for UIN Jakarta’s active participation in the international academic forum. She emphasized that UIN Jakarta’s presence represents Indonesia’s significant contribution to the global development of Islamic scholarship, particularly in preserving the intellectual legacy of Imam al-Bukhari and the scholarly tradition of sanad-based knowledge.

“The participation of UIN Jakarta’s scholars in Uzbekistan reflects Indonesia’s active role in strengthening global Islamic academic networks and fostering cooperation among universities and religious institutions in Central Asia,” said Ambassador Siti Ruhaini in her remarks.

The Ushuluddin Faculty delegation expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and the support provided by the Indonesian Embassy in Tashkent. They hoped that this meeting would mark the beginning of future collaborations between UIN Jakarta and several Islamic academic institutions in Uzbekistan, particularly in the fields of Hadith studies, Islamic history, and academic exchange programs.

This visit was part of the Indonesia–Uzbekistan Cultural and Collaboration Week, held from October 24 to November 1, 2025, across three major cities: Tashkent, Bukhara, and Samarkand. The event was organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Tashkent in collaboration with several Indonesian universities, including UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
