The Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Jakarta successfully held a Studium General event with the theme "Prospects for Islamic Studies: Rowing between Contextual Texts and Plurality of Practice". This event took place on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the H.A.R. Partosentono Theater, 4th Floor, Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Jakarta.
This Studium Generale event presented speakers, namely, Dr. Reflita, S.Th.I., M.A. Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf Al-Qur'an (LPMQ), Dr. Andi Rosa, M.A. (UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten), Dr. Ibnu Sahroji, M.A. (El Bukhari Institute), and Dr. Ahmad Fudhaili, M.A. (Lecturer at the Faculty of Ushuluddin).
Starting this event, Dr. Eva Nugraha, M.Ag. as the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs gave a speech by appreciating that the Studium General event went well. He hopes that the students will gain useful knowledge and information from the presentations of the speakers who attended.
The event was then continued with a presentation from Dr. Reflita, S.Th.I., M.A who explained that the Pentashihan Mushaf Al-Qur'an is the process of researching, checking, and correcting the master mushaf that will be published. This process is carried out carefully by pentashih who have special qualifications, such as memorizing the 30 juz of the Al-Qur'an and a deep understanding of the ulumul Qur'an.
Dr. Andi Rosa, M.A appeared as the second speaker who explained the future prospects of graduates from the Faculty of Ushuluddin, namely being able to read, memorize, understand, and practice the Al-Qur'an properly and correctly and can also have a career as an educator, reviewer and interpreter of the Al-Qur'an.
Then the third speaker Dr. Ibnu Sahroji, M.A. presented material on utilizing and developing digital application and platform technology that facilitates access and learning of the Qur'an and other Islamic studies. This includes mobile applications for learning to recite the Qur'an, interpretation of the Qur'an, and online platforms for religious discussions.
The last speaker who presented material was Dr. Ahmad Fudhaili, M.A. who highlighted various problems in Islamic education in Indonesia, especially related to the gap between theoretical education and practice in the real world. One of the main issues discussed was that many teachers and lecturers focus too much on teaching and training without providing adequate guidance to students. This results in graduates who are not ready to face challenges and changes outside the academic environment.
After the speaker had finished delivering the material, a question and answer session was opened for the speaker which was followed enthusiastically by students who asked good questions. (Alp)
