National Figures Deliver Inspiring Scientific Orations

The Faculty of Ushuluddin invited two national figures to deliver the Scientific Oration.
The first speaker, Dr. Tb. H. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) of the Republic of Indonesia, delivered a lecture titled “The Role of Religious Studies in National Resilience.”
He emphasized that religion is not only a matter of spirituality but also a strategic force in strengthening national resilience and shaping civic character.

“The Faculty of Ushuluddin is not merely an institution of religious learning but also a center for cultivating national character to face contemporary challenges,” said Dr. Ace Hasan.

He also highlighted the importance of Indonesia’s four national consensuses — Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) — as foundations of national identity deeply rooted in religious and ethical wisdom.

Meanwhile, Pramono Ubaid Tanthowi, S.Ag., M.A., Commissioner of the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM), presented an oration titled “Islam and Human Rights.” He explored how Islamic values align with universal human rights principles such as justice, freedom, equality, and compassion.

“Islam is inherently in harmony with universal humanitarian values. The real challenge lies in how we interpret religious teachings creatively and contextually,” said Pramono.

FU Scholarship Launch: A Symbol of Alumni Commitment and Humanitarian Collaboration

As part of the 63rd Anniversary celebration, the Faculty of Ushuluddin officially launched the FU Scholarship, a joint initiative between IKALFU and LAZISMU. The scholarship program is designed to support Ushuluddin students with academic excellence and financial need.

The scholarship was officially launched by Dr. Neng Dara Affiah, M.Si., Chair of IKALFU, and Ibnu Tsani, S.Sos., M.Sos., Chief Executive Officer of LAZISMU.
In her remarks, Dr. Neng Dara explained that IKALFU has long been running scholarship initiatives, and this launch represents a new stage in collaboration with LAZISMU.

“FU Scholarship is not new to IKALFU. Since the beginning, we have supported Ushuluddin students through various educational assistance programs. What makes today special is that, for the first time, this scholarship is officially launched in partnership with LAZISMU,” said Dr. Neng Dara.
