Jakarta, FU Online News — The Faculty of Ushuluddin of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta conducted a Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PkM) combined with the Socialization and Promotion of Study Programs at four secondary education institutions in West Jakarta and South Jakarta. The activities were held over three days, from October 30–31 to November 1, 2025, involving lecturers and educational staff from the Faculty of Ushuluddin.
The program aimed to strengthen synergy between higher education and secondary schools, while also introducing the strategic role of the Faculty of Ushuluddin as a fundamental pillar in the development of moderate, scholarly, and contextually relevant Islamic studies.
The series of activities began on October 30, 2025, at Perguruan Annida Al Islamy Jakarta, an Islamic educational institution offering MTs and MA levels, located at Jalan Raya Duri Kosambi No. 33A, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta.
The following day, on October 31, 2025, the program continued at SMK Perwira Jakarta, located at Jalan H. Dilun No. 4, Ulujami Subdistrict, Pesanggrahan District, South Jakarta.
On November 1, 2025, the PkM and socialization team of the Faculty of Ushuluddin carried out activities at two institutions simultaneously, namely Pondok Pesantren Luhur Al-Tsaqafah, located at Jalan Moh. Kahfi I No. 22, and Pondok Pesantren Daarul Rahman, located at Jalan Purwa Raya I. Both institutions are situated in Cipedak Subdistrict, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta.
These four institutions serve as strategic partners of the Faculty of Ushuluddin in expanding academic networks and fostering awareness among students and santri of the importance of Islamic higher education.
On this occasion, the Faculty of Ushuluddin’s PkM team—comprising Kholik Ramdan Mahesa, M.Ag. (Lecturer of the Qur’anic Studies Program), Muhamad Khoirul Huda, S.Th.I., M.A. (Secretary of the Qur’anic Studies Program), M. Najib Tsauri, S.Th.I., M.Ag. According to Kholik Ramdan Mahesa, the Faculty of Ushuluddin serves as a scientific foundation that plays a vital role in nurturing knowledgeable and ethical generations.
“The Faculty of Ushuluddin provides a space for students to explore foundational Islamic sciences, particularly the Qur’an and Hadith, through textual, contextual, and multidisciplinary approaches. Through this process, students are trained to interpret Islamic teachings in a scholarly manner that is relevant to contemporary social contexts,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Muhamad Khoirul Huda emphasized that mastery of Hadith studies in the digital era must be accompanied by critical and analytical thinking skills.
“Amid the overwhelming flow of information, Ushuluddin students are equipped with methodologies for analyzing the sanad and matn of Hadith to assess the authenticity of information. In this way, the Islamic scholarly tradition can continue to thrive and provide guidance for modern society,” he stated.
M. Najib Tsauri highlighted the importance of the Faculty of Ushuluddin’s role in strengthening national values and religious tolerance.
“Through scientific and objective interreligious studies, the Faculty of Ushuluddin is committed to instilling values of openness, tolerance, and respect for diversity. This is essential so that students are not only knowledgeable, but also become agents of peace and social harmony within a pluralistic society,” he said.
All speakers agreed that the PkM and socialization activities represent a tangible form of the Faculty of Ushuluddin’s academic service to the community, as well as an effort to broaden public understanding of the strategic role of Islamic studies in building a civilized and just society.
The activities at the four educational institutions were warmly welcomed by school principals, teachers, and students. Their enthusiasm was evident through active interactions during the presentations and discussions on study opportunities at the Faculty of Ushuluddin.
