Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Jakarta Participates in the International Conference on Imam Bukhari in Uzbekistan

Samarkand, FU Online News The Faculty of Ushuluddin, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta actively participated in the International Conference on “Imam Bukhari and Scholarship in the Muslim World 2025” held at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center (IBISRC), Samarkand, Uzbekistan. This international academic event was jointly organized by the Imam Bukhari Center, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, and the Institute of Qur’anic Studies (IIQ) Jakarta.

The two-day conference, held on October 28–29, 2025, was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Shovosil Ziyodov, Director of IBISRC, and attended by prominent figures including Prof. Dr. Hj. Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin, M.A., Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Uzbekistan, and Rustam Qobilov, Deputy Governor of the Samarkand Region. The Faculty of Ushuluddin was represented by its Dean, Prof. Ismatu Ropi, M.A., Ph.D., who also delivered a welcome address at the opening session.

The conference carried the main theme “Imam Bukhari and Scholarship in the Muslim World” and featured a series of panel sessions discussing the legacy of Imam al-Bukhari, hadith methodology, Islamic epistemology, as well as modern research and digital humanities.

Several lecturers from the Faculty of Ushuluddin presented their papers in various sessions, including:

  2. Dr. Aktobi Ghozali, M.A. “The Theological Thought of Imam Bukhārī on Human Actions”.
  3. Dr. Sandi Santosa, M.Si.“Imam Bukhari’s Influence on Muslim Communities in Southeast and Central Asia.”
  4. Dr. Humaidi Surat“Islamic Epistemology from the Hadith Perspective: Analyzing the Terms al-‘Aql, al-Ra’y, and al-‘Ilm in Sahih Bukhari.”
  5. Dr. Jauhar Azizy, M.A.“The Influence of Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī in the Tafsir Bi Al-Ma’thūr.”
  6. Dr. Eva Nugraha, M.Ag.“The Use of Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith in Strengthening State Authority in the Interpretation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.”
  7. Dr. Lilik Ummi Kaltsum, M.A.“Trends and Transformations in the Study of Sahih al-Bukhari in Indonesia.”
  8. Dr. Ahmad Fudhaili“Genealogy of Hadith Knowledge between Uzbekistan and Indonesia: Tracing the Sanad Network and Influence of Ma Wara An-Nahr Scholars in the Nusantara Region.”
  9. Dr. Hasani Ahmad Said“Exploring the Methodology of Imam Bukhari & Muslim Imams in Compiling the Sahih Book.”
  10. Dr. Hj. Yuminah R., M.A.Si.“Bridging Islamic Psychology, Sufism, and Psychotherapy: A Contemporary Perspective.”

This significant academic event served as an important platform to strengthen scholarly collaboration and research networks between Indonesia and Uzbekistan, particularly in the field of Hadith studies and classical Islamic thought.

The conference concluded on October 29, 2025, with the presentation of recommendations, acknowledgments to participants, and a joint declaration to continue academic and research cooperation between the two nations in the future.
