Jakarta, FU News Online – The Faculty of Ushuluddin at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully held the Introduction to Academic Culture and Student Affairs (PBAK) 2025 for new students on Thursday–Friday, August 28–29, 2025. The event, which carried the theme Humanistic, took place at the Aula Madya UIN Jakarta on the first day and at the Faculty of Ushuluddin Building on the second day, from 08:00 to 16:00 WIB.
The event was officially opened by Prof. Ismatu Ropi, M.A., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, who emphasized the importance of integrating Ushuluddin’s academic values with humanitarian spirit. “New students are expected to develop their academic potential while fostering social sensitivity, so they can later contribute to the nation and global civilization,” he stated.
Also present were the Vice Deans: Dr. Eva Nugraha, M.Ag. (Academic Affairs), Dr. Lilik Ummi Kaltsum, M.A. (General Administration), and Dr. Aktobi Ghozali, M.A. (Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation), each introducing their respective fields and academic services available for students.
Day One: Academic Orientation and Alumni Dialogue
The first day began with the opening ceremony, prayers, and the singing of the Indonesian National Anthem and the UIN Hymn. The event continued with an introduction to the faculty leadership, presentation of the student code of ethics, and the socialization of the Faculty of Ushuluddin Alumni Association (IKALFU) by Siti Nadhroh, M.Ag.
New students were also introduced to on-campus student organizations, including both faculty-level organizations and semi-autonomous agencies (LSOs). There are five active LSOs serving as platforms for the development of students' interests and talents, namely the Ushuluddin Language Center (ULC), Ushuluddin Research Center (URC), Ushuluddin Development Center (UDC), Ushuluddin Creative Group (UKG), and Mahasiswa Ushuluddin Bersuara (MUARA).
Towards the end of the session, the faculty hosted an Alumni Dialogue with Dr. Rizky Yazid, M.Ag. and Nong Darol Mahmadiah, discussing the theme "The Role of Ushuluddin Knowledge in Maintaining Humanitarian Values in the Modern Era." Both speakers emphasized the importance of Ushuluddin’s academic tradition in shaping intellectual leadership and making meaningful contributions to society.
Day Two: In-depth Program Study and Nationalism Insights
On the second day, new students participated in a program study introduction session, which was led directly by the Heads and Secretaries of the Study Programs along with the Student Associations (HMPS). This session provided a comprehensive understanding of the academic direction, curriculum, and academic opportunities available at the Faculty of Ushuluddin.
After the ISHOMA break, the event continued with a sharing session titled “Consistency in Fighting Forgetfulness: The Role of Students in Safeguarding Democracy and Human Rights.” This forum opened a space for students to critically reflect on national issues while strengthening UIN Jakarta's commitment to raising humanistic awareness among the younger generation.
Students were also given an opportunity to express themselves in an open forum before the event concluded with the screening of the after-movie, awards for outstanding students, and a music performance by the Ushuluddin Blue Stairs Band.
Humanistic Spirit in the Global Era
By adopting the Humanistic theme, the PBAK of the Faculty of Ushuluddin 2025 reaffirms UIN Jakarta’s academic orientation in shaping graduates who are critical, inclusive, and uphold humanitarian values.
This year’s PBAK served as a significant momentum to strengthen the academic identity of new students and solidify solidarity within the academic community. The Faculty of Ushuluddin remains committed to producing generations that are not only proficient in knowledge but also sensitive to social dynamics, democracy, and human rights in the global era.
